As the owner and operator of Lyn Parker Counselling I want to say this....I am choosing to "back" myself!

Recently I received a couple of negative reviews on my Google Business Profile page. I fully refute the comments. The comments are completely out of "context" of what took place. I have no real "right of reply" due to confidentiality. One inappropriate review has been removed, thankfully!

Today, people choose public shaming and humiliation rather than discussion! 

I cannot for the life of me understand why people want to be so deliberately cruel. Isn't there enough "hate" in the world today?

How did we get to this place that it is now acceptable to denigrate others or attempt to destroy a person's long standing business, both their personal and business reputation and their livelihood?

I have been in private practice counselling since 2007. I have met with thousands of clients during that time. I have sat with so many amazing people who have faced many challenges in their lives. I work with clients who are quite often in a highly emotional state and see it as a privilege to be given the opportunity to assist them, although it can be at times quite challenging.

Let me say this......"Humiliation" of another human being on a public forum, anywhere online or on social media has taken many lives by way of "suicide." It sounds dramatic, but sadly it is true! It is bullying and harassment and revengeful. Anyone who has experienced this will understand what I am saying. 

If you are not happy with your counsellor or any other professional for that matter, you move on and find another - no malice! It is actually your right to do so.  Not every Counsellor/Client relationship is a good fit.

To my future clients, come in and find out for yourself. I stand by my experience and knowledge to assist and guide people through what is often a difficult chapter in their lives. 

Despite people's cruelty - I will continue doing the work I love!
